ESG Report 2022: Ready for a Sustainable Future

Immofonds Asset Management AG has published its ESG Report 2022. The investment vehicles IMMOFONDS and IMMOFONDS suburban are being prepared for a sustainable future with consistent commitment. Progress is measured using newly collected key figures. Responsibility for ESG topics is anchored at all levels in the organization.

Zurich, June 29, 2023 – As manager of one of the largest and oldest real estate funds in Switzerland, Immofonds Asset Management AG has always placed special focus on long-term oriented action. This basic attitude has shaped our understanding of responsible business practices since 1955. It applies to both IMMOFONDS and our IMMOFONDS suburban, launched in 2021. Gabriela Theus, Managing Director, says: "We are convinced that the future-oriented real estate business will be characterized by sustainability aspects." The overarching goal of net zero by 2045 is on track: Currently, around 30% of the portfolio is already supplied with renewable heat. In accordance with our guiding principle "Creating living spaces with character," the report focuses on five topics: the added value of ESG in portfolio management, the natural design of outdoor spaces in Wetzikon, the creation of more housing in existing buildings in Zurich, the planning of the Wankdorfcity 3 area in Bern according to the sponge city principle, and employees as a success factor. A portfolio manager, two landscape architects, and newly moved-in tenants describe how they experience and help shape Immofonds Asset Management AG's commitment to greater sustainability. With the ESG Report 2022, Immofonds Asset Management AG switches reporting to the calendar year and thus follows up in short order on the sustainability report for the 2021/22 fiscal year published in September 2022. For the first time, the report reports key figures for measuring progress for all four ESG priorities: "Value Creation and Corporate Governance," "Real Estate," "Environment," and "Stakeholders and Society." Responsibility for ESG topics has been anchored at all levels in the organization, from the Board of Directors to an operational task force. An ESG position was created to manage sustainability initiatives.
